NEWS: Vees Forward Bottini Commits To Canisius College

PENTICTON, BC. – The Penticton Vees Hockey Club is pleased to announce forward Stefano Bottini (’02) has committed to Canisius College.

Bottini,19, is playing in his second season with the Vees after last season’s Pod campaign, amassing 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points in 42 career games played in the BC Hockey League. The 6’1”, 189-pound forward has accumulated 7 goals and 12 assists for 19 points in 25 games this season including leading the team in shorthanded markers with 2.

The Lugano, Switzerland native played with the Lugano Under-20 team before coming to the Vees during the 2019/20 season, posting 12 goals and 40 points in 43 games played while also representing Switzerland on an international stage in Edmonton, Alberta in 2020, playing at the World Junior Hockey Championship.

“I’m proud and honoured to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey at Canisius College,” commented Bottini, “I’d like to thank my family, friends and coaches who have helped me along the way.”

The Vees (21-4-0-2) will conclude a stretch of five consecutive games against the West Kelowna Warriors (18-10-0-0) on Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available for purchase at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC as well as online at valleyfirsttix.com. The game will also be broadcasted live on Bounce Radio 800 as well as streamed on BCHLTV.ca.
