The Penticton Vees are hosting their annual Pucks N’ Paws night on Saturday, February 17, when they face the West Kelowna Warriors. This year, the Vees are excited to announce their first ever dog race during the first intermission. Pucks N’ Paws is in support of the BC SPCA South Okanagan / Similkameen and Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society.

The “race” is small dogs going from owner to owner between the two blue lines, won used, snow-filled ice at the end of the period to greatly minimize any risk of slipping.

Click the link above to sign up for the Vees First Intermission Dog Race. Only 15 spots are available, and sign up is on a first come, first serve basis. Dog race rules are regulations are below.

  • Eligible dogs must weigh 35 lbs. or less
  • Dogs must be on a leash at all times
  • Dogs must be housetrained
  • All dogs need to come with a pee pads, dog carrier or kennel
  • Each dog must be accompanied by two (2) handlers
  • Dog owners must purchase a ticket to be eligible to participate in the race (Group pricing of $14)

More rules and regulations are available by clicking the link at the top of your page. Your dog must be comfortable in a group setting with other dogs and be comfortable in a loud environment.

If any issues arise with your dog during the night, we will ask you remove them from the arena with no refund or credit.
