PENTICTON, BC. – The Penticton Vees Hockey Club has added experience to their blue line with the addition of defenseman Braden Doyle (’01) for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

Doyle, 20, comes to Penticton after spending the first half of the season with Boston University, suiting up for the Terriers in eight games while adding an assist in that time. The 5’11”, 161-pound defender played his junior hockey previously with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the United States Hockey League (USHL), scoring 12 goals and 45 assists for 57 points in 104 games played and was named a Third Team All-Star in the USHL during the 2019/20 season.

The Lynnfield, Massachusetts native was selected in the 6th round of the 2019 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft, going 157th overall to the Los Angeles Kings.

In a corresponding roster move, the Vees have traded defenseman Anthony Allepot (’01) to the Chilliwack Chiefs in exchange for future considerations.

Allepot, 20, suited up in 27 games for the Vees in the opening half of the season, scoring a goal and adding 10 assists for 11 points. The Trois-Rivieres, Quebec native played parts of four seasons with the Val d’Or Foreurs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) before landing in Penticton with the Vees.

“Parting ways with someone like Anthony is never easy,” commented Vees President, General Manager and Head Coach Fred Harbinson, “He is a leader and someone who has a tremendous amount of character. Unfortunately, given our 20-year-old situation, we had to make room for Braden and could not pass up adding a player of his caliber.”

In addition to Boyle’s arrival, the Vees have also added forward Adam Eisele (’01) to the roster for remainder of the season.

Eisele, 20, makes his way to Penticton after rehabbing from an off-season injury and will join the team for the second half of the campaign. The Lake Elmo, Minnesota native previously played with the Youngstown Phantoms in the USHL, posting 4 points in 8 games during the 2019/20 season. The 6’1”, 185-pound forward is committed to play his collegiate hockey with the University of Minnesota State-Mankato.

The Vees would like to thank Anthony for his time and contributions to the organization as well as the City of Penticton and welcome Braden and Adam to the South Okanagan.
