Vees, Penticton Dragon Boat announce team building challenge

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees, proud members of the BC Hockey League, are excited to announce they are once again teaming up with Penticton Dragon Boat for a team building challenge on Sunday, September 4th, at 10:00 am at Skaha Lake Park.

Vees’ players and staff, with very little instruction, will compete against Survivorship, an experienced dragon boat team of breast cancer survivors. After the initial race, the Vees will receive more instruction and guidance from Survivorship and challenge them in a rematch- their toughest race of the season.

There is a lot of anticipation for this “face-off” between the Vees and Survivorship, after a brief hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is a great test and team building exercise for our group,” said Vees’ President, General Manager & Head Coach Fred Harbinson. “We want to thank Don Mulhall and Penticton Dragon Boat for inviting us and being able to draw inspiration from Survivorship. We’re excited to be able to do this again.”

Survivorship is committed to raising awareness of breast cancer in our community, showing breast cancer survivors that life does not end with a cancer diagnosis, while participating in the sport of dragon boating.

The team will hit the water at 10:00 am on Sunday morning and spectators are welcomed to attend and cheer on the Vees and Survivorship. May the best team win!
