The Penticton Vees ended 2008 with a win against the Trail Smoke Eaters. The first period was almost scoreless when Trail came up with a goal with 30 seconds left in the first period. The Vees evened things up with goal 1:06 into the second period. Denver Manderson scored with an assist from Brodie Reid. Less than three minutes later Matt Ridley knocked one in with help from Mitch Labreche and Zack Josepher. The Vees who were the only team to score during the second period scored their third goal of the night when Brodie Reid put one in with help from Garrett Milan and Denver Manderson. Trail scored the Vees last goal of the night 16:18 into the third period with help from Ryan Viselli and Joey Holka.
The Vees outshot the Smoke Eaters 40-25, and won the game 4-2.
The Vees resume hockey action tonight when they take on the Quesnel Millionaires. Game time is 7:05pm. CBC Sports will be here to check out
