The Penticton Vees have finally overcome the ghosts of Cominco Arena in Trail, beating the Smoke Eaters 6-5 in double overtime on Tuesday night.
In their previous six trips to the Kootenays the Vees had gone to overtime five times – losing each game that went to extra time. After playing five minutes of 4-on-4 without a goal, Beau Bennett snapped the Vees OT curse in Trail with a double overtime breakaway goal.
