London Drugs Home Opener Friday

The Penticton Vees 2014-2015 Home Opener, presented by London Drugs, is set for Friday, October 3rd, when they host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at 7 p.m. at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC).

Friday is the first half of a home-and-home set with the Silverbacks this weekend as the two Interior Division foes face one another Saturday in Salmon Arm. Both teams come into Friday’s game sporting identical 3-1-0 records.

This is the Vees sixth home opener at the SOEC and they have won their previous five contests, including last year’s 4-1 win over the Merritt Centennials.

London Drugs will be handing out cowbells and thunderstix; however, it’s on a first come, first serve basis so don’t be late! On top of that, the Vees will be handing out their 2014-2015 commemorative Fridge Magnet Schedule at Friday’s game.

Special guest, “Mr. Oh Canada,” Mark Donnelly, will sing the anthem prior to the start of the game and there will be a special group of Vees alumni dropping the puck for a ceremonial face-off.

New this year, the Vees will be selling collectable posters that will feature a different player each game. Fans will have the opportunity to get their poster signed by the featured player after the game on the main concourse in the BC Hockey Hall of Fame. To start the year off, Team Co-Captain, Cody DePourcq, will be the first player to be featured for Home Opener.

Don’t forget, single-game tickets for Students (18 & under) and Children (12 & under) are FREE courtesy of Peter Bros Construction. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Save yourself a dollar by purchasing your single-game Adult ($13) or Senior ($11) tickets before Friday. Fans can get their single-game tickets by visiting the Valley First Box Office (at the SOEC) between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
