Penticton starts their two-game road trip in the Lower Mainland tonight against the Langley Rivermen. The road trip wraps up tomorrow in Coquitlam.

The Vees enter the weekend riding a nine-game (8-0-1-0) point streak. The Vees swept their two-game road trip last weekend in the Kootenays. Penticton beat the Cranbrook Bucks 4-0 Saturday and the Trail Smoke Eaters 3-2 Sunday.

Penticton is also riding a six-game point streak on the road. The Vees are 5-0-1-0 in their last six road games. Their last regulation road loss was January 5th, in Prince George.

Thursday, goaltender Will Ingemann was named the BCHL First Star of February. The 18-year-old was 4-0 last month and had four shutouts. He has stopped all 66 shots he faced. Ingemann is riding a four-game shutout streak that has stretched to 249:43. He is just seconds away from breaking the BCHL regular season shutout streak, and just a couple minutes away from the BCHL overall shutout streak record.

Forward James Fisher enters the weekend with a seven-game point streak. Fisher has scored six goals and picked up 10 points over his last seven games. He has scored in three-straight games.

The Vees are 5-1-0-1 against the Coastal Conference. Tonight is the Vees first visit to Langley since November 19, 2019, when they earned a 4-3 win at George Preston Arena.

Scoring Leader: Vitaly Levvy (18-27-45)

The Rivermen are coming off a 4-0 shutout win against their Mainland rivals, the Chilliwack Chiefs last Saturday.

Langley has gone 4-2-0-0 in their last six games as they try and distance themselves from eighth place Cowichan Valley. The Rivermen are four points up on the Capitals entering this weekend’s action.

The Rivermen made a coaching change in mid-January, as Burt Henderson and the team agreed to mutually part ways on January 12th. Henderson was replaced by Associate Head Coach Tyler Kuntz. Since the coaching change, the Rivermen have gone 5-4-2-0 in the last 11 games.

Langley is led by 20-year-old forward Vitaly Levvy, who has 45 points in 45 games. Levvy leads the team in goals (18) and assist (27). 18-year-old Luke Ashton sits fifth in defencemen scoring with 31 points. Ashton’s 16 goals leads all blueliners in the BCHL.

The Rivermen are 2-5-1-0 against the Interior Conference.
