Last Game: Beanie Richter, Callum Arnott, and Ben Brunette each had a goal and an assist in Friday’s 6-2 win over the Vernon Vipers. Jackson Nieuwendyk, Ryan Hopkins, and Ethan Mann also scored. Frank Djurasevic chipped in with two assists. Hank Levy stopped 13 of 15 shots for his fifth win. The power play went 1/3 and the penalty kill was 2/3. The Vees improved their record to 2-0 against the Vipers and have outscored them 14-4 in two games.

Tonight’s Game: Tonight, is meeting number three of five in the season series. Penticton has picked up two convincing wins at home against the Smoke Eaters, winning 7-1 on opening night and 9-3 on Oct. 29th. The remaining three games in the season series shift to Cominco Arena in Trail. the Vees are 10-2-1-0 in their last 13 games in Trail. Forward Dovar Tinling returns to the lineup after missing the last five games due to suspension. Tinling has 16 points (6G, 10A) in 12 games this season and will be reunited with the Nadeau brothers on the Vees’ top line. Aydar Suniev serves the second game of his two-game suspension. He is eligible to return to the lineup Nov. 18 vs. West Kelowna. Luca Di Pasquo will get the start in net. He has one win against the Smoke Eaters and is 12-0 with a 1.66 goals-against average and .924 save percentage. He also has one shutout.

Last Game: The Smoke Eaters finished their three-game Vancouver Island road trip with a 7-2 loss in Victoria to the Grizzlies. Trail went down 3-0 after 20 minutes and were down 4-0 in the second period, before they made it a two-goal game. However, the Grizzlies scored three unanswered to end the game and cruise to the 7-2 victory. Teagan Kendrick started that game but was replaced by Keegan Maddocks after he surrendered four goals on 18 shots. Ridge Dawson and Adam Parsons scored in the loss. Trail has lost five of their last seven games dating back to Oct. 19.

Tonight, is the Smoke Eaters first home game since Oct. 28 when they earned a 5-1 victory over the Merritt Centennials. Trail’s last home win against Penticton, in the regular season, came back on Jan. 10, 2020 (4-3).
