12th annual Valley First Feed the Valley night set for March 10th

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees and Valley First are teaming up with the Penticton Salvation Army Food Bank to tackle hunger on Friday, March 10th, when the Vees host the Langley Rivermen at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) at 7:00 PM.

It’s Valley First’s Feed the Valley night, as fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the game. All donations collected will be donated to the Penticton Salvation Army Food Bank.

“Valley First is proud to be partnering with the Penticton Vees and the Penticton Salvation Army Food Bank for the 12th annual Feed the Valley game night”, says Simon Mills, Interim President of Valley First. “The Valley First volunteer crew will be at the game collecting food and cash donations for those in need. It’s part of Valley First’s Feed the Valley initiative that has raised more than $2.8 million for food banks in the Thompson, Okanagan and Similkameen communities.”

Fans who donate a non-perishable food item will be entered into a draw to win a signed Vees’ pink Anti-Bullying jersey.

In addition to the jersey draw, fans will be able purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a Bonnie Raitt prize pack, which includes two (2) tickets to her concert, with special guests Royal Wood, at the SOEC on Friday, September 22nd, 2023. The prize pack also includes two (2) tickets to the pre-show wine and cheese experience in the Vault Bar & Grill. Raffle tickets at the game are one (1) ticket for $2 or three (3) tickets for $5. The winner will be announced early in the third period and must be in attendance to claim the prize. [BC Gaming Event License #140498]

Food donations will be collected at all entrances to the SOEC that evening, with raffle sales taking place on the concourse.

Last year, 1,330 pounds of food was collected to help restock the Penticton Salvation Army Food Bank. Since 2011, nearly 21,000 pounds of food and over $7,300 has been donated at the Penticton Vees’ Feed the Valley sponsored game nights.

Tickets are available at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC, or online at www.valleyfirsttix.com.
