Vees Win Both Games During Home Opening Weekend

The Penticton Vees beat the Salmon Arm Silver backs 4-2.  The game started with a ceremonial puck drop lead by Ivan McClelland, Erie Rucks, Kevin ?the crusher? Conway.  Devon Krogh, Mitch Labreche, Brent Vandenberg and Nathan West over each scored for the Vees.  The post game ceremonies were lead by the City of Penticton Pipe band, while we honored all six decades of hockey with Representatives from each one, Larry Lund and Ivan McClelland.  The night ended with Ivan who was the first one to ever step foot on the ice being the last one to leave on Friday night.  We will always have the memories of Memorial.

 

Saturday Night the Penticton Vees beat the visiting Westside Warriors 4-0, in their first ever game in the brand new SOEC.  Anthony Borelli got the First Star for his first shut out of the season.  Scoring for the Vees was Anthony Perdicaro, David Andreassen, Brad Reid, and Curtis McKenzie.  The Night started with a Vees introduction video followed by individual introductions of all the players.  There was a speech from the Mayor and a ceremonial puck drop by Ivan McClelland, Ernie Rucks and Kevin ?the crusher? Conway.  The game was loaded with entertainment both on the ice and during the intermissions.
