PENTICTON, BC-The Penticton Vees got scoring from up and down the lineup as five different players found the scoresheet and Nic Renyard picked up his fourth win, and the Vees cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Langley Rivermen at the SOEC.
The win is the Vees second in as many nights, as they sweep their weekend schedule at the SOEC, outscoring their two opponents 12-2.
Jedd Soleway introduced himself to his new fans in style this weekend, picking up a goal and four points; three points on Saturday against the Rivermen.
To the game and Wade Murphy scored his first goal in five games to open the scoring in the first period. Murphy snapped a shot from the top of the left-circle, which beat James Barr on the far-side at 6:42.
Brock Balson doubled the Vees lead six-minutes later when he scored his second in as many games. Balson put a low shot past the glove of Barr at 12:48; his fourth of the season.
Cody DePourcq rounded out the first period scoring with a sneaky wrap-around at 14:24; DePourcq’s third goal in the last three periods, dating back to the second period on Friday. DePourcq picked up a loose puck behind the Langley net and lifted a back-hand past Barr at the near-post.
In the second the Vees continued to pad their lead with a pair of goals. Jedd Soleway kicked things off just past the seven-minute mark. Soleway redirected a Brayden Park slap-shot from the point and over Barr; Soleway’s first goal as a Vee, which also spelled the end of James Barr’s night.
Penticton native Darren Hogg came in after the Vees fourth goal but the Vees weren’t kind hosts. 20 seconds after scoring, Soleway setup another as he fed Louie Nanne in front for a tap-in at 7:30. Soleway raced to a loose puck in the corner, and spun a past out front to Nanne who scored his 12th and fourth in his last four periods.
Viktor Dombrovskiy spoiled Nic Renyard’s shutout bid early in the third period. Dombrovskiy pounced on a rebound at the far-post for his second at 3:24.

The win bumps up the Vees record to 20-7-0-3 for 43 points; now three points clear of idle Chilliwack for top spot in the BCHL. Their home record moves to 11-3-0-1 and the Vees even their record against the Mainland Division to 3-3.
