VEES MOVE INTO TOP SPOT IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

PENTICTON, BC– The Canadian Junior Hockey League released its weekly Top 20 rankings today and the Penticton Vees have moved into 1st place.

The Vees leapfrogged over the Woodstock Slammers (MHL) after winning all three of their games last week over Vernon, Chilliwack and Salmon Arm. Penticton is currently in the midst of a franchise record 21 game win streak.

This is the highest the Vees have been ranked this season. In the pre-season rankings Penticton was positioned in 12th. Since then the Vees have climbed within the top five, being ranked fourth, third and most recently second.

Penticton will look to hold on to the number one spot with a pair of games this weekend at home versus Langley and Prince George.

The weekly rankings are based upon a variety of factors, including the league in which the teams play, winning percentage, win-loss record, and total points accumulated, goals-for versus goals-against ratio.
