PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees are pleased to announce the commitment of forward, Max Heise (’06) for the 2023-24 season.

“Max was a player whose game trended upwards each month last season to a point where he was one of the main reasons his team won the Alberta championship,” began Vees’ President, General Manager & Head Coach Fred Harbinson. “His combination of Work ethic and skill will be exciting to watch in a Vees jersey.”

Heise, 17, played for the Calgary (NW) Flames in the Alberta Elite Hockey League’s (AEHL) U18 AAA Division this past season. The Calgary, AB, product was third in team scoring in the regular season with 32 points (14G, 18A) in 34 games. In the playoffs, he finished second on the team with 16 points (10G, 6A) in 11 games, as the Flames won the AEHL U18 Provincial championship over St. Albert.

“I am honoured to be joining such a respected and high-end organization and can’t wait to put a Vees jersey on,” said Heise.

Heise helped the Flames to an appearance at the 2023 Men’s U18 National Club Championship, after a two-game sweep over the Okanagan Rockets in the Pacific Regional Championship. The 6’2, 162-pound forward had five points (1G, 4A) in two wins over the Rockets. At the U18 Nationals, Heise had four points (1G, 3A) in five games. Heise is committed to Michigan State University.

The Vees organization would like to welcome Max and his family to Penticton and the South Okanagan.
