PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce 2005-born forward Jack Potulny has committed to the team for the 2024-25 season.

Jack comes from a hockey family, as he is the son of Northern Michigan University Head Coach Grant Potulny, and the nephew of former NHL forward Ryan Potulny.

“We have had success in the past with NCAA coach’s sons. Jack is a player who has learned to win and will fit in to how we want to play in Penticton,” said Vees’ President, General Manager, and Head Coach Fred Harbinson.

Potulny, 18, spent the past three years at the prestigious Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minnesota. The 6’3, 186-pound forward tallied 47 points (24G, 23A) in 50 games at the US 18U Prep level this season. Potulny helped Shattuck-St. Mary’s repeat as USA Hockey Youth Tier 1 Under 18 champions, as they won the national title last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Potulny helped lead his team to a perfect record at the tournament, as he finished with four points (2G, 2A) in six games. The Maple Grove, Minnesota, product assisted on the game-winning goal in the championship game, as Shattuck-St. Mary’s beat the Yale Jr. Bulldogs 2-1.

Last season, at the 18U AAA level, Potulny racked up 93 points (59G, 34A) in 58 games, as he finished second in team scoring. Potulny and Shattuck-St. Mary’s won the 2023 High School Prep National Championship in Plymouth, Minnesota. He had six points (4G, 2A) in five games at the 2023 national tournament, including two points in the title game.

Potulny is committed to the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
