VEES GRAB TOP SASKATCHEWAN MIDGET PLAYER

PENTICTON, BC –The Penticton Vees are pleased to announce the commitment of forward Josh Laframboise (96) for the upcoming 2014-15 season.  Josh attended the Vees’ Spring Camp last weekend and impressed the coaches and scouting staff with his speed, tenacity and goal scoring abilities. From Regina, the Vees believe that Josh will carry on the tradition of strong play from Saskatchewan-raised players, most recently Jarod Hilderman, Sean Flanagan and Bryce Gervais.

Josh enjoyed a very successful 2013-14 season with the Battleford Stars of Saskatchewan Major Midget League. The 6’0” foot, 180 pound player recorded 61 points in 41 regular season games, including an impressive 33 goals. Josh picked up his game further in the playoffs, posting 20 points (9 goals) in 10 games.

Josh’s play last season was recognized by being awarded his team’s MVP, as well as the entire Saskatchewan League’s MVP. The University of Minnesota Duluth clearly saw Josh’s potential and committed to him in March 2014 (returning Vees Jarod Hilderman and Hunter Miska will also be joining this same UMD Bulldog class).

Vees President, Head Coach & GM Fred Harbinson on Josh’s commitment, “We believe that Josh possesses many of the traits we have been seeking in forwards: he competes hard, he skates fast, he drives the net fearlessly and he has an obvious knack for goal scoring. Combined with his really solid character, we believe Penticton hockey fans will come to really enjoy Josh play.”

The Vees are pleased to welcome Josh to the team and the South Okanagan.
