Vees begin pre-season schedule in West Kelowna

PENTICTON, BC – The Penticton Vees are on the road for the first time in the 2017-18 season as they visit Royal Lepage Place to take on their Interior Division rival West Kelowna Warriors.

Including the regular season, Wednesday’s game will be the first of eight affairs between the two teams. Last season, the Vees went a perfect 7-0 against the Warriors, though Wednesday’s game won’t feature many of the same players from last season.

The lineups for both teams are expected to be riddled with prospects, including a number of members from the Anaheim Jr. Ducks squad who are in Penticton for the week. A few familiar names will be in action for the Vees, including returning goalie Nolan Hildebrand who will get the start in goal. Defenceman Greg Brydon and forward Cassidy Bowes are the only other two Vees regulars from last season in Wednesday’s lineup.

Following Wednesday’s game, the next game action for the Vees will be Friday night for the annual Peaches Cup game, which sees members of training camp split into two teams. That game runs from 5-7 p.m. at the South Okanagan Events Centre, and admission is free.
