Official: Vees to Play Merritt in Round 2 of the BCHL Playoffs

It’s official.

The Penticton Vees will play the Merritt Centennials in Round Two of the BCHL Fred Page Cup Playoffs, starting with Game One March 17th at the SOEC; puck drop is 7 pm.

The Trail Smoke Eaters eliminated the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Friday night with a 7-4 win in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series, ensuring the Vees will face Merritt and the Smoke Eaters advancing to take on the Vernon Vipers.

The Vees won six of seven regular season meetings against Merritt this year, with two of those wins coming in overtime. This marks the first time these two teams will meet in the playoffs since 2014, when the Vees swept the Cents’ in the Interior Division Semi-Final; it’s the third post-season meeting between the two teams since 2012.

Single game playoff tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for seniors and are on sale at the Valley First box office (at the SOEC) and online at www.valleyfirsttix.com . Students (18 and under) and children are FREE courtesy of Peter Bros. Construction.
