NEWS: Vees Tabbed #1 In Initial CJHL Top 20 Rankings

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is ranked #1 in the initial Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) Top 20 Rankings to begin the season.

The rankings are a weekly installment and are compiled by an independent scouting source. The Vees are ranked in the top spot after a perfect 6-0 start to their regular season, with all of their games being played on the road. The Vees have a registered a BCHL-best 32 goals for while surrendering just 11 goals against in six games.

Penticton earned back-to-back wins in Trail to begin the season against the Smoke Eaters before defeating the Merritt Centennials and Prince George Spruce Kings, in overtime, a weekend later. The Vees just capped off their six games away from home to begin the season with a 6-0 win against the Cowichan Valley Capitals on Saturday and a 4-3 triumph over the Nanaimo Clippers on Sunday.

The Vees are back on home ice this weekend to begin a home-and-home set against the West Kelowna Warriors. Puck drop for the Vees Home Opener, presented by Telus, is set for 7:00 PM on Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
