NEWS: Vees Forward Josh Nadeau Claims BCHL’s First Star of Week; Wilson, Doyle Named Honourable Mentions

PENTICTON, B.C. – The BC Hockey League announced the Three Stars of the Week on Monday with forward Josh Nadeau being named First Star along with forward Luc Wilson and defenseman Braden Doyle being named honourable mentions.

Nadeau, 18, earned the league’s first star after a strong week in contributing to the Vees three wins, tallying 4 goals and 2 assists for 6 points over that span. The University of Maine commit registered his first career BC Hockey League hat trick and four points in an 8-2 win over the Trail Smoke Eaters on Saturday night. Nadeau also scored in the Vees 2-1 victory over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Wednesday while adding an assist in a 5-3 triumph over the Merritt Centennials on Friday night.

Wilson, 21, earns an honourable mention after a six-point week of his own, scoring 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points. The University of Minnesota State-Mankato collected an assist on Wednesday night before scoring twice on Friday night in Merritt and finished the week with three assists in the win against Trail on Saturday.

Doyle, 20, also was named an honourable mention in collecting 5 assists over the course of the week, finishing off with three helpers on Saturday against Trail. The University of Northeastern commit has posted points in seven straight games after points in three games over the course of last week.

After three wins last week and seven in a row, the Vees get ready to host another Wicked Wednesday and will face-off against the Vernon Vipers (16-14-3-3) at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Puck drop is slated for 6:30 PM with tickets available for purchase at the Valley First Box Office as well as online at valleyfirsttix.com with tickets priced at just $10. The game will also be broadcasted live on Bounce Radio 800 as well as streamed online at BCHLTV.ca beginning with the pre-game show at 6:10 PM.
