Massimo Rizzo listed as B-level prospect for 2019 NHL Draft

Penticton, BC: Penticton Vees captain Massimo Rizzo has received some recognition by the National Hockey League Central Scouting service. He’s been listed as a B-level player to watch for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, tagging him as a potential second or third round pick.

Rizzo, from Burnaby, scored 13 goals with 26 assists as a rookie during the 2017-18 season. He then scored four goals with six assists in 11 playoff games.

The 5’10’’, 180-pound centre has yet to play a game this season as he his recovering from an injury.

Should Rizzo be selected at the draft in June, he would become the 33rd player to be drafted into the NHL directly from the Vees franchise.

Last season Jonny Tychonick was drafted in the second round, 48th overall by the Ottawa Senators.

In total, 16 players from the CJHL were tabbed as either A, B or C level players to watch with seven of those 16 coming from the BCHL.
