Joey Benik Coming to Penticton!

Joey Benik is coming to Penticton next season.

The 17-year-old forward set the state record for most goals in a season in Minnesota High School hockey last season with 65, and will be lighting the lamp for the Vees come Fall 2010.

Currently, Benik has 27 goals in 12 games playing for the St. Francis Fighting Saints (in the Nothern Suburban Division) and leads the state in goals and points (27-14-41).

?I?m excited to get to work with another very talented hockey player like Joey Benik. I can?t wait to see him in a Vees jersey helping our team next season. Our organization continues to pride ourselves on bringing in top players and developing them for the NCAA. We?re thrilled that Joey chose Penticton and the BCHL for the next stage of his hockey career?

– Vees Head Coach and GM Fred Harbinson

Joey has already secured an NCAA Commitment to St. Cloud State, where Coach Harbinson was an assistant prior to his arrival in Penticton.

Joey was at the Vees Spring Identification Camp in April and is currently on the NHL Draft Watch List.
