The Vees and Bucks will play in the fifth and final game of their season series tonight at Western Financial Place after Cranbrook earned their first win of the season set as the Vees suffered a 5-2 setback. Ryan Hopkins and Spencer Smith each found the back of the net for the Vees while Kaeden Lane turned aside 19 of the 23 shots thrown his way in his 3rd loss of the season.

With an assist on Friday night, Vees forward Luc Wilson continued his strong season and added to his team lead in points, collecting 69 on the season in his 48 games played. The University of Minnesota State-Mankato commit has posted 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points in his last 3 games played with consecutive points. The Duncan, BC native currently sits 5th in the BC Hockey League in points and is 3rd in the league in assists with 43 and ranks tied for 9th with 26 goals scored.

Deflecting in his 10th goal of the season on Friday sees Vees forward Spencer Smith with goals in back-to-back games and markers in three of his last five games. The University of Massachusetts-Amherst commit is the 9th Vee to hit double digits in goals this season while the St. Catharines, Ontario native has goals in consecutive games for the second time this season as he has scored three in a row back in early December.

The Cranbrook Bucks look to make it back-to-back wins after a 5-2 victory over the Vees on Friday night at Western Financial Place. Noah Quinn had a pair of goals in the game while Bauer Morrissey, Luke Pfoh and Jarrod Smith each found the back of the goal in the win. Nathan Airey was terrific in goal for the Bucks, making 32 saves on 34 shots in his 19th win of the season.

A four-assist night for Bucks forward Tyson Dyck, who leads Cranbrook in points with 72 on the season and a team-leading 39 helpers. The Abbotsford, BC native extended his point streak to four games, posting two goals and six assists for eight points in his last four games while also earning points in eight of his last nine outings. Dyck’s four-point performance was the second of his season with the forward earning a goal and three assists on January 15th against the Trail Smoke Eaters.

The Vees and Bucks will play the fifth of their five-game season series on Friday night at Western Financial Place with a 7:00 PM MST puck drop (6:00 PM PST). The game will be broadcasted live on Bounce Radio 800 as well as streamed on BCHLTV.ca beginning with the pre-game show at 6:40 PM.
