Last Game: The Vees improved to 2-0-0-0 last Saturday after they thumped the Cranbrook Bucks 7-1 at the SOEC. Penticton scored three goals in a 65-second span in the first period to go up 3-0 and never looked back. The Vees have opened the season posting back-to-back 7-1 victories. In Saturday’s win, the line of Bradly Nadeau, Josh Nadeau, and Dovar Tinling combined for three goals and eight points. Luca Di Pasquo was efficient in net, stopping 16 of 17 shots. Special teas were strong again, as the Vees went 2-3 on the power play and 4-4 on the penalty kill.

Tonight’s Game: Tonight, is the first of five meetings between the Vees and Silverbacks. Last season, the Vees won four of six against the ‘Backs in the regular season series. Penticton won all three games at the Shaw Centre a season ago. Penticton is looking to start the season 3-0-0-0 for the four consecutive season. Bradly Nadeau comes into Friday’s action leading the BCHL in points with five (1G, 4A) in just two games. The 17-year-old is off to a terrific start playing on the left side on the Vees’ top line.

Last Game: Salmon Arm swept their opening weekend schedule against the Vernon Vipers. The Silverbacks shutout the Vipers 3-0 in their home opener last Friday, then scored a 4-1 victory in Vernon the following night. A very stingy start for the ‘Backs, having conceded just one goal in the first six periods of the season. A big reason why is goaltender Matthew Tovell. The 20-year-old from Belleville, ON, was acquired this summer from the Hawkesbury Hawks in the Central Canadian Hockey League. Tovell stopped 58 of 59 shots last weekend against Vernon and was named the BCHL’s second star of the week.
