Commitment #11 – Derik Johnson

The Penticton Vees are pleased to announce their 11th NCAA Division 1 commitment on the season. Derik Johnson (90) has committed to the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs.

The UMD Bulldogs play in the WCHA conference. Assistant Captain, Derik Johnson is in his second season with the Penticton Vees. Derik is a steady, shut down defensemen who prides himself on his dedication to the game. UMD is a school that Derik's father played at, and has been a school Derik wanted to attend since being a young boy. The Vees are proud of Derik for earning his scholarship.

The Vees would also like to recognize Beau Bennett for being named Top Forward at the CJHL Prospect Event, and teammate Joey LaLeggia for being named Top Defenseman at the Event. Goalie, Sean Bonar was also honored to be named to Team West for the Prospects Event, held this week in Winkler, MB. Congrats boys!

The next home game is Saturday December 12 vs Vernon. Tickets are 2 for 1 with a food item for the Salvation Army food drive. Beers are $2! Tickets available at the SOEC box office.
