PENTICTON, B.C. – Former Penticton Vees forward Bradly Nadeau has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, as announced by the Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon.

Nadeau, 19, was selected in the first round, 30th overall, by Carolina in the 2023 NHL Draft.

The St-François-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick product just completed his freshman season at the University of Maine. Nadeau was a Hockey East Second Team All-Star and All-Rookie Team selection, as he compiled a team-best 46 points (19G, 27A) in 37 games. Nadeau’s 46 points were the most by a Maine player since the 2011-12 season. Nadeau was tied for fifth in goals, sixth in points, and tied for sixth in assists among all NCAA freshmen. He helped lead the Black Bears to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2012.

Prior to suiting up with the Black Bears, Nadeau spent two seasons in Penticton, winning back-to-back Fred Page Cup championships in 2022 and 2023. During the 2023-23 season, Nadeau was named the BCHL MVP, after he led the league in goals (45), assists (68), and points (113). In two seasons in Penticton, the forward compiled 159 points (65G, 94A) in 103 career regular season games.

He was also named the inaugural BCHL Playoff MVP last May after he amassed 35 points (17G, 18A) in 17 playoff games, as he finished tied with his brother, Josh. Nadeau tallied 59 points (28G, 31A) in 34 career playoff games, helping the Vees win back-to-back league championships.
