Bennett, from Gardena, California; recorded five four point games in the final two weeks of the season to come from behind, and edge out Mark Zengerle for the honour – who also had 120 points, but scored eight fewer goal and played four more games than Bennett.

Bennett won a gold medal with Team USA at the World Junior 'A' Challenge, played in the BCHL All-Star Game, and helped Team West win the CJHL Prospects Games in Winkler, Manitoba.

Beau finished 40 points ahead of the BCHL's second most productive rookie, scoring 41 goals and recording 79 assists for a total of 120 points in just 56 games.
