PENTICTON, BC. – Penticton Vees forward Bradly Nadeau will return to the Peach City with some hardware as his Team Canada Red earned silver at the 2021 Capital City Challenge Under-17 Tournament in Ottawa, Ontario.

Nadeau was one of two BC Hockey Leaguers to make the final cut of 66 overall players at the tournament, accompanied by Victoria Grizzlies forward Matthew Wood. The University of Maine commit posted a goal and three assists for four points in five total games with Team Red at Hockey Canada’s annual Under-17 tournament, finishing 5th in team scoring.

The 16-year-old posted a pair of assists in Team Red’s semi-final matchup against Team White before heading into the Capital City Challenge final against Team Black, following a 4-3 overtime victory over the Canadian Women’s National Team. Team Black scored with 0.04 seconds remaining to tie the game and eventually won in overtime giving Nadeau and Team Red the silver medal.

Nadeau has had a terrific start to his junior hockey career, posting 9 goals and 7 assists for 16 points in 13 games with the Vees, including a four-goal, six-point performance against the Powell River Kings on October 30th, 2020.

The Vees (15-2-0-0) will return home for a pair of weekend games, beginning on Friday night against the Cranbrook Bucks (9-7-1-0) at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available online at ValleyFirstTix.com as well as in person at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC Box Office. The game will also be broadcasted live on Bounce Radio 800 as well as streamed on BCHLTV.ca beginning with the pre-game show at 6:40 PM.

Friday marks the annual Teddy Bear Toss taking place after the Vees opening goal of the night. Bring a new or gently used teddy bear, stuffed animal, pajamas, mittens, toques and more wrapped in a plastic bag to be collected after the Vees opening goal of the game. Interior Health also lifted capacity restrictions as the SOEC will now host 100% of their capacity, for the first time this season, on Friday night.
