Jackson Niedermayer commits to Arizona State

Penticton, BC: The Penticton Vees are proud to announce 2001-born forward Jackson Niedermayer has committed to Arizona State University for the 2021-22 season.

Niedermayer, from Newport Beach, California, is in his first season in the BCHL after making the jump from the Anaheim Jr Ducks program. In 36 games this season Niedermayer scored twice and recorded four assists.

His season was unfortunately cut short due to an injury he suffered December 19 against the Vernon Vipers.

Niedermayer will suit up for the Vees for two more seasons before making the jump to ASU, where he will be teammates with current Vees defenceman Carson Kosobud.

The Sun Devils are currently not in any specific conference within the NCAA, but rather playing as an independent program. As of Thursday, they have a 16-9-1 record and sit 17th amongst Division I schools. Their 16 wins is already double what they had last season.

His commitment makes him the 18th player on the Vees roster with an NCAA Division I scholarship.
