Zac Dalpe drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes wrapped up the 2008 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday by making four selections on the draft?s second day. Forward Zac Dalpe (2nd round, 45th overall),

Dalpe, 18, is committed to Ohio State University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association for the 2008-09 season. In 2007-08, the Paris, Ont., native ranked fifth in the BCHL with 63 points (27g, 36a) in 46 regular-season games with Penticon, and helped lead the Vees to the BCHL championship with 17 points (8g, 9a) in 15 postseason games. Dalpe (6?0?, 170 lbs.) ranked No. 16 on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau?s final rankings of North American skaters released in April, climbing the list from his No. 26 rank in December?s mid-term rankings.
