Vees Split Weekend Home Games

Friday night the Penticton Vees hosted the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the first time this season.  Although the Vees outshot the Silverbacks 32-28 the Vees lost 5-2.  The Silverbacks scored two goals in the first period, followed by a third goal two minutes into the second period.  Curtis McKenzie scored a power play goal for the Vees with assists from Brodie Reid and Denver Manderson.  The Silverbacks came back in the third period with two quick goals within the first five minutes of the third period.  Ryan Viselli scored the Vees last goal of the night with less than two minutes left, with assists from Max Grassi and Travis Ouellette.

 

Saturday night the Penticton Vees hosted the Nanaimo Clippers in the second overtime period.  The first period was scoreless.  The second period the Nanaimo Clippers scored their only goal of the night.  The third period picked up the pace with Vees Garrett Milan scoring with less than a minute left with help from Denver Manderson.  The Vees went on to play a scoreless first overtime period.   Just two minutes into the third Garrett Milan scored the game winning goal with help from Denver Manderson.  The Vees outshot the Clippers 44 to 27 shots.
