VEES RETURN HOME TO SHUT OUT THE KODIAKS

After dropping the first two games of the Doyle Cup in Camrose, the Penticton Valley First Vees turned the tide in Game Three by blanking the Kodiaks 3-0, Tuesday night at the Memorial Arena.

The Valley First Vees scored two goals a mere six seconds apart late in the opening period and added an empty netter in the dying minutes.

Brett Hextall got Penticton the board at 17:13 of the first.  Right after the subsequent face-off, Austin Smith stormed down the ice to make it 2-0 at 17:19.

Hextall buried his second of the game at 18:56 of the third with Camrose netminder Allen York on the bench in favour of an extra attacker.

The Valley First Vees outshot the Kodiaks 43-28 overall.  Alex Evin was perfect between the pipes in picking up his third shutout of the post season.

Camrose still leads the Best-of-Seven series Two Games to One, with Game Four set for Wednesday night, beginning at 7:00 in Penticton.
