Vees play AJHL Champion Brooks in exhibition double header

Brooks, AB: After a home and home sweep against the West Kelowna Warriors, the Penticton Vees wrap up their exhibition schedule this weekend with two games against the defending Alberta Junior Hockey League Champion Brooks Bandits.

Friday’s game takes place at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time at the Regional Centennial Arena before Saturday’s game at 3:00 Pacific. Despite being in different leagues, the Vees and Bandits are no stranger to each other.

The inter-province rivals have met four times since 2012, twice at the Western Canada Cup, once in the Doyle Cup and once at last season’s Royal Bank Cup.

In the most recent meeting, it was the Bandits skating away with a 2-1 overtime victory in Cobourg, Ontario during the round robin portion of the RBC Cup.

Tonight’s lineup for the Vees is expected to be similar to what it will look like when the regular season begins in Merritt next Friday.

Rival Packs are still on sale. Five games against the Vees biggest rivals for $59, along with a $10 gift card to the Blue zone. Contact Laura Carleton in the Vees office at 250-493-8337 ext 4.
