VEES CLOSE TO ELIMINATION FOLLOWING GAME FOUR LOSS TO CAMROSE

The Penticton Valley First Vees find themselves in both an unfamiliar and precarious position.  One more defeat and their season will be over.

The Camrose Kodiaks defeated the Valley First Vees 3-1, Wednesday night at the Memorial Arena, to move to within a single win of capturing a second consecutive Doyle Cup.

Now trailing the series Three Games to One, Penticton has the unenviable task of needing three straight victories.  The uphill climb begins with Game Five, Friday night at home, getting underway at 7:00 o?clock.

Wednesday night, the Kodiaks took less than six minutes to get on the board, increasing their lead to 2-0 on the powerplay at 14:12 of the opening period.

The Valley First Vees responded with a man advantage tally of their own, off the stick of Zac Daple, just 1:21 later.

Camrose nursed the 2-1 score into the third, adding some insurance one second shy of the two minute mark, allowing numerous shots but few quality scoring chances the remainder of the period.

Despite outshooting the Kodiaks 35-25 overall, including 15-3 in the final period, Penticton seemed to lack the intensity shown the night before.

Alex Evin suffered the loss in the Valley First Vees? net, part of which included stopping a third period penalty shot, while Camrose goaltender Allen York played his usual strong game in earning the win.

It?s ?do or die? for the Penticton Valley First Vees on Friday night.  Meantime, the Camrose Kodiaks will be looking to secure a berth in back-to-back RBC Royal Bank Cup National Championships.
