VEES BLANK THE VIPERS TO GO UP TWO GAMES TO NONE

Friday night?s Opening Game of the Series may have seemed like a ?walk in the park? to the Penticton Valley First Vees.  However, Saturday night?s Game Two in the Best-of-Seven Interior Conference Semi-Final Playoff against the Vernon Vipers was anything but that.

With no shortage of chances for both sides, the teams managed to play 54:20 of scoreless hockey, before Nathan Westover's shot off an offensive zone face-off deflected in past Vernon goalkeeper Andrew Hammond.  Penticton added empty netters from Brett Hextall and Anthony Perdicaro to make the final 3-0.

Alex Evin picked-up his second straight win, stopping all 30 shots sent his way to earn the shutout.

The Valley First Vees outshot the Vipers 31-30 overall during the physical affair.

Make no mistake about it, this game could have gone either way, but a late bounce went in favour of the Penticton Valley First Vees, who take a Two Games to Nothing lead into Game Three, set for Tuesday night at 7:00 at the Vernon Mutli-Plex.
