Vees Beat Vipers in Last Regular Season Home Game

Saturday night the Penticton Vees beat the Vernon Vipers 5-3 in their last regular season game.  The Vees took the lead in the first period with three unanswered goals.  The first goal came at 9:48 when Curtis McKenzie fired one in with assists from Brad Reid and Matt Paltridge.  Less than four minutes later on a power play Curtis McKenzie netted another goal with help from Garrett Milan.  Zack Josepher scored an unassisted power play goal at the 15:38 mark of the first period. The first half of the second period was scoreless until Max Grassi scored at the 16:07 mark in the second period with assists from Brodie Reid and Zack Josepher.  Vernon scored a few minutes later to make it 4-1 heading into the third period.  Vernon scored the first goal of the third period at 9:48 to make the score 4-2.  Matt Paltridge scored the Vees last goal of the evening at 17:53 unassisted.  Vernon netted their last goal of the evening less than a minute later.   Curtis McKenzie earned the first star and Jordan White earned the second star of the night.

 

The Penticton Vees will host the Prince George Spruce Kings in the first round of play offs starting this Friday night.  February 27th and 28th the Vees will open the series at home, game three and if needed four will be played in Prince George on March second and third.  If needed game five will  be played in Penticton on March 4th.  Tickets for the first two games of the first round of play offs are available at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
