Vees announce details for the 2022-23 Home Opener, sponsored by the Penticton Speedway

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees, proud members of the BC Hockey League (BCHL), are excited to announce details for their upcoming 2022-23 Home Opener on Friday, September 23rd, versus the Trail Smoke Eaters at 7:00 pm.

The 2022-23 Home Opener is sponsored by the Penticton Speedway.

Fans are encouraged to get to their seats early, as the Vees will have a special pre-game banner raising ceremony prior to puck drop. Penticton fans will watch the team raise four banners to the SOEC rafters from their 2021-22 championship season. The four banners the Vees will be raising are for their Interior Division Regular Season championship, the Ron Boileau Trophy, which is given to the BCHL Regular Season champions, the Ryan Hatfield Memorial Trophy, for their Interior Division Playoff championship, and their Fred Page Cup BCHL championship banner.

Penticton won their 13th Fred Page Cup in record fashion last May, beating the Nanaimo Clippers in four games. The Vees had the most impressive run in BCHL Playoff history, winning 16-straight playoff games to claim their third championship in the last six years.

Also, the first 500 fans through the doors will get a 2022-23 fridge magnet schedule, courtesy of Huber Bannister Chevrolet.

Single game tickets for adults are $17, seniors are $15. Youth under 19 are free, courtesy of Peter’s Brothers Construction. Single game tickets are available at the Valley First box office, or online at www.valleyfirsttix.com
