Upcoming Games at the SOEC: February 14-17

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees play three games over the B.C. Family Day long weekend, including two at the South Okanagan Events Centre against the Trail Smoke Eaters and West Kelowna Warriors. Sandwiched between those two games is a road date against the Vernon Vipers on Saturday.

Here’s What’s on Tap:

Friday, Feb. 17th vs. Trail Smoke Eaters

  • Where: South Okanagan Events Centre.
  • Doors: 6:00 pm.
  • Puck drop: 7:00 pm.
  • The Vees kick-off the long weekend with a home date against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
  • It’s a matchup of the two top teams in the Interior Conference and BCHL overall standings. The Vees sit first overall, the Smoke Eaters second. Just two points separate the two teams.
  • Friday is the second consecutive game against the two teams, as Trail beat Penticton 4-1 on Saturday. It’s also the sixth and final game in the season series. Trail has won three of the first five meetings.

Saturday, Feb. 15th at Vernon Vipers

  • Where: Kal Tire Place, Vernon
  • Puck drop: 7:00 pm.

  • The Vees look to bounce back after losing to Vernon 3-2 in overtime on February 7th.
  • Saturday’s game is the fifth of six meetings in the season series. Penticton is 3-0-1-0 against the Vipers this season.

Monday, Feb. 17th vs. West Kelowna Warriors

  • Game Sponsor: Okanagan-Skaha International Student Program
  • Where: South Okanagan Events Centre
  • Doors: 1:00 pm.
  • Puck drop: 2:00 pm.
  • The Vees host the West Kelowna Warriors in a Family Day matinee at the SOEC.
  • Monday is the first meeting between the two teams, since the Vees posted back-to-back 5-2 wins over the Warriors on December 13th and 14th.
  • After the game, the Vees will be hosting a skate with the team from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Stick around and hang out with your favourite players, get autographs, and take pictures.
  • CSA-approved helmets or winter helmets are not mandatory but strongly recommended.
  • Helmets and skates will not be available to rent, so please come prepared. Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult/guardian.
