Owen Sillinger named BCHL Player of the Month

Coquitlam, BC: The Penticton Vees are pleased to announce captain Owen Sillinger has been named the BCHL’s player of the month for the month of February.

Sillinger, from Regina, Saskatchewan, skated in all 12 games for the Vees during the final month of the 2017-18 season and exploded offensively.

Sillinger scored nine goals and added 12 assists over the 12 games, helping the Vees to a 9-2-1-0 record and securing first place the overall BCHL standings.

The 5’10’’ forward set career highs across the board in his final year of junior hockey, scoring 33 times and adding 34 assists to lead the Vees in scoring in his third year with the team.

He was also a key contributor on special teams during the season, scoring eight power-play goals and also four shorthanded goals.

Sillinger finished his regular season BCHL career with 66 goals and 87 assists in 171 career games with Penticton.

He now hopes to lead his team to another Fred Page Cup championship, as the Vees currently hold a 3-0 series lead over the Coquitlam Express in the Interior Division quarter final.
