NEWS: Weight Named To Team West At CJHL Prospects Game

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced the rosters for the 2020 CJHL Prospects Game, taking place in Hamilton, Ontario, that includes Vees forward Danny Weight (’01).

The 15th annual CJHL Prospects Game selects 40 players from each of the West and East, in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting, to form two teams to play on Tuesday, January 14th at 4 PM PST at the Dave Andreychuk Arena in Hamilton, Ontario.

Weight, 18, is in his first season with the Vees and is a ‘C’ listed skater by NHL Central Scouting. The Boston College commit has tallied 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points in 37 games played and sits 2nd in team scoring. The Lattingtown, New York native ranks 7th in the BCHL in scoring with his 38 points while his 8 power play goals are tied for 2nd in the league.

The Vees forward is one of seven members of Team West to be selected from the BCHL.

The Vees are back in action with a pair of home games ahead of the holiday break, beginning with a matchup against the Powell River Kings on Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
