PENTICTON, BC. – The Penticton Vees Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce forward Trevor O’Brien (’02) has committed to the team for the 2021/22 season.
O’Brien, 18, was able to get into game action during the 2020/21 campaign, suiting up for 35 games with the Cape Cod Whalers in the U18 AAA league in Massachusetts, scoring 13 goals and adding 25 assists for 38 points. This was the second season that the 5’10”, 176-pound forward played for the Whalers, playing in 56 career games while registering 53 points in that time.
The Hingham, Massachusetts native is currently finishing his school year at St. Mark’s School in prep hockey, located in Southborough, Massachusetts, and got into 29 games with the school a season ago, posting 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points in that span.
The O’Brien name has been a familiar one in the Vees organization over the past few seasons and Trevor adds to the name as he is the younger brother of former Vees forward Jay O’Brien, who played for the team during the 2019/20 season.
The Vees would like to welcome Trevor and his family back to the organization as well as the South Okanagan and City of Penticton.
