NEWS: Vees Recruits Gojsic and Guilbault To Compete At National U17 Development Camp

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce a pair of incoming recruits in forward Hiroki Gojsic and defenseman Gabriel Guilbault will be joining 100 other players in Hockey Canada’s Under-17 Development Camp in anticipation of the 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, slated for November 5th to 12th in Langley and Delta, BC.

Gojsic and Guilbault will take part in the development camp, based in Calgary, from July 10th to 16th and be split into five teams for on-and-off ice training, fitness testing, practices, intrasquad games and classroom sessions. Following the camp, players wil continue to be evaluated before 66 are named to one of three Canadian national teams to compete in the tournament in November, the same tournament that current Vees forward Bradly Nadeau was a part of last season.

Gojsic, 15, played at St. George’s School with the U18 Prep team, posting 29 goals and 22 assists for 51 points in 32 games played, leading his team in goals, assists and points. The 6’2”, 185-pound forward posted a goal and two assists for three points in three games during the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Playoffs, which were held in Penticton as well as playing in a game as an affiliate player with the Langley Rivermen.

Guilbault, 15, played the last three seasons with the Burnaby Winter Club and spending the 2021/22 season with the U18 Prep team. The 6’2”, 163-pound defender suited up in 30 games with BWC this year, collecting 2 goals and 18 assists for 20 points from the blue line and published two assists in five games during the playoffs.
