NEWS: Vees Hit Open Waters For Dragon Boating Team Building Challenge

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees have teamed up with Penticton Dragon Boating to hit the water for a team building challenge on Sunday, August 25th.

Vees players and staff will work together in steering the boat in the right direction and compete in a race, with very little instruction, against Survivorship, a dragon boat group of breast cancer survivors who want to live healthy and active lives.

Survivorship is committed to raising the awareness of breast cancer in the Penticton community, showing other breast cancer survivors that life does not end with a cancer diagnosis while participating in the sport of dragon boating.

The Vees will get a bit more information and instruction after the initial race before facing off against the Survivorship team once again in the final race between the two.

“This is a great challenge for our team to come together and get out in the community for the first time this year,” commented Vees President, General Manager and Head Coach Fred Harbinson, “I’d like to thank Don Mulhall and the Penticton Dragon Boat for giving us this opportunity and is something we are really looking forward to on Sunday.”

The Vees will hit the water at 10:00 AM on Sunday morning with the Survivorship team.
