NEWS: Hopkins Ranked 101st In Final NHL Central Scouting Rankings

PENTICTON, B.C. – National Hockey League (NHL) Central Scouting announced their final rankings ahead of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft in Montreal, Quebec that includes Penticton Vees defenseman Ryan Hopkins, who is ranked 101st among North American skaters.

Hopkins, 18, is in his 1st season with the Vees, posting 7 goals and 24 assists for 31 points in 47 regular season games from the blue line and finishing 3rd in scoring amongst rookie defenders. Hopkins was rewarded with his strong play by being named to the All-Rookie Team in the BCHL.

The University of Maine commit has tallied three assists in eight playoff games thus far and joins three other BCHLers in the rankings, including West Kelowna Warriors defender Tyson Jugnauth (66th), Cranbrook Bucks forward Tyson Dyck (110th) and Wenatchee Wild forward Cade Littler (187th) as well as Alberni Valley Bulldogs goaltender Hobie Hedquist, who ranked 27th among North American goalies.

The Vees have advanced to the Fred Page Cup Final and will take on the Nanaimo Clippers in the BCHL Final beginning on Friday, May 13th at the South Okanagan Events Centre. A full schedule will be released in the coming days.
