NEWS: 50/50 Draw, In Support Of OSNS, Closes Wednesday, December 14th

PENTICTON, BC. – The Penticton Vees Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club, in participation with the BC Hockey Hall of Fame, teamed up with OSNS Youth and Child Development Centre for a 50/50 draw that sees 50% of all the proceeds benefitting OSNS and comes to a close on Wednesday, December 16th.

The draw has run from December 3rd and reached a jackpot of over $2,000 on Monday morning. With half of the proceeds going towards OSNS, especially during the holiday season, every little bit helps.

“The mission of the OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre (“OSNS”) is to maximize the developmental growth, emotional health and creative capacity of children in the South Okanagan Similkameen through early treatment and family care,” says the organization, “For over 40 years, through sheer determination and incredible effort, the OSNS has lived this mission. Treatment programs, such as speech and language pathology, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and autism intervention, assist over 1,600 children annually at OSNS. The demand for these vital programs is great and growing.

Government plays an important role but falls short of providing the necessary operating expenses. As a result, the Centre must spend a phenomenal amount of time, energy and resources to fundraise each year for the Centre to cover its operating costs and provide innovative programs. This time, energy and resources is much better spent on fulfilling the OSNS’s mission of helping as many children and youth as possible.  This year, it has been particularly challenging with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The majority of community fundraising events that are vital to funding the OSNS needed to be re-visioned or cancelled.”

Tickets can be purchased up until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 16th with a winner announced just after 4:00 PM on the same day. To order tickets, head to https://bchhf-vees.rafflenexus.com/ with a link to the website also available on the Vees website and App.
