Penticton, BC: The Penticton Vees are pleased to announce defenceman James Miller has been named the BCHL’s player of the week for the week ending October 14, 2018.

Miller, from Spruce Grove, Alberta, recorded three goals and three assists over three games this week as the Vees picked up five of a possible six points.

Wednesday against the Merritt Centennials, Miller had a record night as he scored twice and added two assists in a 6-2 Vees win.

Friday Miller was held pointless in the Vees 3-2 shootout loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks before adding a goal and an assist against the Cowichan Valley Capitals Saturday night in a 4-1 Vees win.

On the season, the 20-year-old defenceman has five goals and eight assists in just 12 games, already surpassing his point total from last year when he scored twice and added eight assists in 20 games after returning from the University of New Hampshire.
