Identification Camp

Given current BC provincial health restrictions, which are expected to continue thru May long weekend, we are canceling our May 21-23rd ID camp. We do so with regret, as we were really looking forward to watching recruits play as we have had so little opportunity to evaluate players for our future teams. While we are providing full refunds (available until July 1st), we are strongly encouraging families to rather consider transferring to our August Skills & Conditioning Camps or September ID Camp. With vaccinations quickly ramping up across the country, we expect these camps to run uninterrupted

We are offering two August Conditioning camps:

1) August 25th – 27th

2) August 30th – September 1st

These conditioning camps will provide two 75-minute ice times per day, with a focus on skills, flow and conditioning. Vees coaches will be running all sessions, which will be held at the Vees’ home, the South Okanagan Events Centre (“SOEC”).

We are also hosting a September 3rd – 5th Identification CampOur ICamp will consist of four, sixty-minute games over the course of three days at the SOEC. Vees staff will be evaluating these skates, with the intention of filling out our 2021-22 available roster spots and affiliate roster, as well as identifying players that can be future Penticton Vees – in the past, over 75% of our lineup previously attended an ID Camp. Invitations will be extended to our top recruits to attend our September 17th main camp.

It’s been a difficult year for most young hockey players. We hope to have the opportunity to either develop you, or evaluate your development, in August and September.

We invite players born 2003-2006 to participate in our Identification Camp. The Penticton Vees Identification Camp will be hosted at the home of the Vees, the South Okanagan Events Centre. Our Identification Camp will consist of four, 60-minute games over the course of three days. Vees staff will be evaluating these skates, with the intention of identifying players that can be Penticton Vees, as well as filling our 2021-22 affiliate roster spots.

The Penticton Vees are excited to announce a new service to ID Camp participants – video analysis. Our Vees video coach will provide all interested families with a complete video analysis of a player’s games. We find that young players respond best to visual teaching, and we believe this analysis could be very useful in a young player’s development.  If you have any questions regarding this service, please contact Vees video coach Matt Miller directly at
