The Penticton Vees will play for the Fred Page Cup as they host the Nanaimo Clippers in Game #1 of their best-of-seven BC Hockey League Final series on Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The Vees will look to extend their lead in the best-of-seven BCHL Final following a 4-1 victory in Game #1 on Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre in front of a large crowd of 4,459 fans. Casey McDonald, Ryan Hopkins, Luc Wilson and Bradly Nadeau each found the back of the net for the Vees in the victory while Kaeden Lane turned aside 19 of the 20 shots thrown his way in his 13th win of the playoffs.

A goal and an assist pushed the point streak to six games for Bradly Nadeau as the 16-year-old forward has posted 8 goals and 12 assists for 20 points to sit third in team and league scoring heading into Game #2 of the BCHL Final. The University of Maine commit has scored 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points during his 6-game point streak. Bradly has a strong rookie campaign in the BCHL, filing 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points in 49 games played.
Another power play goal in Game #1 of the BCHL Final helped the Vees to the win to open the series and the man advantage has been a heavy lifeline of the Vees throughout the course of the playoffs. Penticton’s power play has scored more goals than any other team in the playoffs, finding the back of the net 19 times in the postseason and running the power play at 30.6% through the course of 14 games.
With a great crowd of 4,459 fans in attendance for Game #1 of the series on Friday, the Vees have fed off the energy from their building, having won seven games in a row at the SOEC and 13 overall in the playoffs. Penticton has scored 39 goals on home ice during the playoffs, well beyond any other team in the playoffs, while surrendering just 12 in 8 games, averaging out to just 1.50 goals against per game.
The Nanaimo Clippers come into Game #2 looking to even the series and bounce back from their first loss of the playoffs following a 4-1 loss to the Vees on Friday night at the SOEC. Kai Daniells scored the lone goal for the Clippers in the 2nd period while Cooper Black made 36 saves on 40 shots in his 1st loss of the playoffs.

The goal for Clippers forward Kai Daniells in Game #1 extended his long point streak to five games in Nanaimo’s only goal of the game. The Whistler, BC native has 11 points in 13 playoff games while registering five goals and one assist for six points during a six-game point streak while Daniells has notched goals in four of those five games and three contests in a row.
The Vees and Clippers meet in Game #2 of the BCHL Final on Saturday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre with the Vees leading the series 1-0.
