Scoring Leader: John Banks (1-3-4)
The Crusaders picked up a 7-3 win Friday on the road against the Blackfalds Bulldogs.
Special teams were a big factor for Sherwood Park, as they scored four times on the power play and also scored shorthanded; five of their seven goals came via special teams.
On average, the Crusaders are the youngest team in the BCHL, with an average age of 17.5, but also a very skilled team with 17 players committed to NCAA Division l programs; that speaks volumes. How young are they? The Cru only have three 20-year-old players in tonight’s lineup.
Defenceman John Alex Banks had quite the season opener last night, as he finished with a goal and four points in the win over the Bulldogs.
