Curtis McKenzie Drafted to the Dallas Stars

Congratulations to all BCHL players involved in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft!

The Penticton Vees would like to congratulate forward Curtis McKenzie (91) in his selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. McKenzie, who played the past two seasons in Penticton, was selected in the 6th round, 159th overall to the Dallas Stars. Curtis will join several Penticton Vees alumni in the Stars organization; Brett Hull, Andy Moog, and recent Vees players, Austin Smith. The Vees are very proud of Curtis and his accomplishments this past season and wish him the best of luck next season at Miami-Ohio and with the Stars.

The Vees also would like to congratulate newly acquired Ben Sexton (91) who was selected in the 7th round, 206th overall by the Boston Bruins. Ben will lace up with the Vees in the coming season. Defenseman Luke Curadi was not selected in the NHL draft however has been invited by the New York Rangers to attend their rookie camp this summer. The Vees wish to congratulate both Luke and Ben, as well as the 4 other BCHL players who were included in the 2009 NHL Draft.
